A naturalist, a photographer, an observer.

I am a bird conservationist working on the Big Island of Hawaii. I spend my days on the forested slopes of Mauna Loa, in mountain streams and sphagnum bogs, along the lava rock seashore, and on my rocking chair in the backyard. I find and document insect life and I write about it. I watch leaves sway and birds flit and I write about it. Thank you for taking the time to look at these small worlds I care so deeply about.
